Level:  Introductory

The publication of the DMBOK2 marks a milestone for the data management profession. Laura worked on the DMBOK2 for more than two years; from May 2015 – June 2017; first as part of the editorial team, then as the production editor finalizing the manuscript. During this process, she read a lot, talked with a lot of people, and synthesized a lot of information in the effort to clarify the content in the DMBOK. The purpose of this talk is to share lessons and insights learned from this experience. These reflections focus on three areas:

1. The Data Management profession

2. How we interact with stakeholders

3. How we interact with the wider world
