ty.net/sessionPop.cfm?confid=126&proposalid=10380\n
Investment Services P
roviders (ISPs) are financial actors operating on the financial markets in
France and Europe.
\n
In France, the ISPs are subject, according to th
e European regulation, to authorization by the Prudential Control Authority
(PCA) before exercising their activities, and to the approval by the AMF f
or the scope of their investments services.
\n
The authorization and a
pproval processes contribute to the creation of the ISP master data, w
hich includes legal and financial information on the ISP collected during t
he process mainly by the PCA and to some extent by the FMA.
\n
For its
regulatory activities concerning ISPs, the FMA relies on data received dai
ly from the PCA through an exchange infrastructure involving two applicatio
n systems: REGAFI on the side of the PCA as the data provider, and SAFIR on
the side of the FMA, as the data consumer. From the SAFIR data source, the
ISP data then feeds various business processes at the heart of the FMA&rsq
uo;s mission: all this makes of the ISP data, one of the most shared within
 the FMA.
\n
This case study was initiated by the IT department of the
FMA to investigate management issues that affect the quality of ISP data a
nd formulate recommendations for improving the architecture and governance
of the ISP data and to instantiate its governance process.
\n
